At its most recent Board meeting, the Directors of the Lamoille Economic Development Corporation discussed its concerns for the effect the unusually mild winter we have just gone through has had on businesses in the region. The drop in tourist visits and the subsequent drop in money spent in local businesses of all sorts, not just those that cater directly to the tourist trade, has had a negative impact on the cash flow of many businesses. The LEDC operates the Lamoille County Revolving Loan Fund whose mission is to provide direct financing to assist businesses in Lamoille County.
The Fund has two parts: the Micro-loan program for loans from $2,500 to $10,000 and the Small Business program for loans over $10,000 to $50,000. These loans are made at very attractive interest rates with variable re-payment terms and are available to any business located in or moving to Lamoille County.
If your business is having difficulty recovering from weak winter sales volume we encourage you to contact us and find out more about how we may be able to assist you with a loan through the revolving loan fund or in some other way.
